Dr. Peter Williams will be lecturing at Legacy Christian Academy. Anyone can attend this event and it is free.
Peter (P.J.) Williams was educated at Cambridge University, where he received his M.A. (Classics, Hebrew and Aramaic), M.Phil. (Hebrew Studies), Ph.D. (on an Aramaic version of 1 Kings). After his Ph.D. (1997) he was a Research Associate on the Semantics of Ancient Hebrew Database Project in the Faculty of Divinity, Cambridge University, and thereafter taught Hebrew and Old Testament at Cambridge University as Affiliated Lecturer in Hebrew and Aramaic and as Research Fellow in Old Testament at Tyndale House, Cambridge (1998 - 2003). In 2003 he joined the staff at the University of Aberdeen, where he is now a Senior Lecturer in New Testament and Deputy Head of the School of Divinity, History and Philosophy. Maintaining interests in both Testaments, he is presently seeking to develop a consistently evangelical approach to the textual criticism of the Bible (see http://evangelicaltextualcriticism.blogspot.com). Recent publications include: Beginning to Study the Old Testament, in Philip Duce and Daniel Strange, eds., Encountering God's Word: Beginning Biblical Studies (2003), and his second book Early Syriac Translation Technique and the Textual Criticism of the Greek Gospels (2004).

The Stanton Lectures were established in November, 2008, by several Diocese of Dallas ministries and commissions in honor of our diocesan bishop, James M. Stanton. Previous lecturers have been Lord George Carey, 103rd Archbishop of Canterbury, and Dr. J.I. Packer.
The Stanton Lecture Planning Committee is pleased to be bringing The Rt. Rev. N. T. Wright to Dallas for the 2010 Stanton Lectures from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM on November 13, 2010.
Cost for the Lectures is $50.00 per person. Due to overwhelming response and seating limited to 350, all attendees must be pre-registered and there will be no registrations at the door. **All refund requests must be received no later than November 5th.
